Burrow At home
Here we are, one day into our second lockdown.
I began the weekend feeling so many emotions. It was almost like I had been on auto pilot over the last several months. Focusing on my kids, and work, doing my best to keep life moving along. Then with the announcement of the second lockdown, my momentum slowed and eventually stalled, ending with me sitting in my kitchen, drinking wine, and crying to Christmas music.
It felt like a necessary pause. To just feel, and to rest. Pandemic fatigue is real, and can leave us feeling drained in so many different ways. So, I made a decision over the weekend to embrace and accept our current circumstances, with compassion and patience for all that is to come over the next few months, and to strive to create memorable moments.
One of the ways I would like to begin this process is to share what our plans are for our restaurant over the next few weeks, and into the New Year.
At The Burrow we have gone back to serving curbside only, and I am working hard at setting up a delivery option so you can #burrowathome with your favorite crepe and breakfast plates. We will also be making some slight changes to our menu. We plan to be offering breakfast trays within the next week, which we hope will make your quarantine mornings a little simpler. Crepes, eggs, fresh fruit and our crispy potatoes, a little bit of everything for your family to enjoy together at home. We will also be offering Thanksgiving side platters to alleviate some of the stress of shopping and preparing food.
I think we all know the holidays are going to look very different this year, so I wanted to come up with way to keep us all connected and able to share the love while we are staying home. With that in mind, Teddy, Billy and I will releasing a variety of gift baskets, care packages and lots other opportunities to give to those you love most.
We will be sharing more details soon, just keep an eye on our page for updates!
In my upcoming posts I will be sharing a curated list of all the best local places to shop this year. Local business need our support more than ever right now, so let’s give them some love. I will also be sharing holiday recipes and traditions, and would love to hear from all of you about your favorite ways to celebrate, and give to those you love.
I look forward to getting into the holiday spirit with all of you and to hopefully bring some joy to you and your loved ones leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas. When we are generous with our time and our resources, everyone benefits. It is sometimes easier to pull away when life feels hard, but we all could use some extra love these days. I hope you will join me in embracing compassion and generosity this holiday season.
